FAQs
How does it work?
If the sensor probes come into contact with water, the water to your home will be turned off automatically, preventing a serious flood. The probe sensors need their prongs submerged in water to activate, but the rope will detect water all along its length.
The system does not require the internet to work after setup and has a battery backup in case of internet or power outage.
Where do the sensors get installed?
We recommend installing a sensor near any appliance with a water supply. Fridge water lines, dishwashers and washing machines are your highest risk. From there you can also do sinks and other plumbing fixtures. You can use splitters to cover multiple fixtures (say a sink and toilet) with one sensor.
Just add as many sensors as you need to your cart (up to 15 sensors per system). The probes, ropes, splitters, and extenders can be mixed and matched.
How do I install it?
Your kit will come with a step- by- step installation manual (linked below). You can attach the sensor and probes in any area of your choice.
The valve must be installed in your main water line. We recommend you have this done by a licensed plumber. You will need an AC outlet within 6ft of the Valve.
You can mount the monitoring hub anywhere where an AC outlet is available.
Are there any additional costs?
Absolutely not. Our system is a one-time purchase.
Also, you can transfer the system to the new owner if you sell your home or take the system with you and just purchase a new valve.
Does the system make any noise?
Our sensors are silent. If they detect water, the red light will blink, your water valve will automatically shut off, and your monitoring hub will show the source of the leak. You will also get an email notification.
What happens if a valve or sensor fails?
We provide a 2-year warranty on the valves, they also have a replaceable motor that would not require a plumber to change.
The rest of the system comes with a 1-year warranty and the sensors are easy to un-pair and replace.
How does the system save me on my insurance?
Talk to your insurance broker and ask for a discount for having a leak detection system with an automatic shut off.
I live in an apartment; will this system work for me?
Yes. Our system was initially designed as a solution to flooding problems in multi-family
buildings.
